पोर्टर डिलीवरी पार्टनर (सामान ढुलाई) · पोर्टर डिलिव्हरी पार्टनर

Carrying parcels and goods within the city on your own two-wheeler, three-wheeler or mini truck through an app, paid per trip by distance and vehicle type.

The short answer

Useful extra income if you already own a bike, and a real livelihood for people who own a goods vehicle. We found no reliable figure for what partners earn, so try it for a month on a bike you already have before buying any vehicle for it.

Shops, small businesses and households book a vehicle in the app to move parcels, stock or furniture across the city. You accept a trip, go to the pickup point, load, and deliver to the drop point. Two-wheelers carry documents and small parcels; three-wheelers and mini trucks carry goods and often need you to help with loading. The fare is set by the app from distance, time and vehicle type. Demand is strongest on weekdays in business hours, around markets and industrial areas.

What you need

  • Age 18 or above.
  • A two-wheeler, or a commercially registered three-wheeler or mini truck, with RC, insurance and pollution certificate.
  • A valid driving licence for that vehicle.
  • An Android smartphone, Aadhaar, PAN and a bank account.
  • For goods vehicles: permit, fitness certificate and commercial insurance.
  • Fuel money until the first payout.

How the money works

The customer pays the fare shown in the app. The platform keeps its commission and pays you the rest, often daily or weekly. Fuel, maintenance, tolls and fines are yours.

  • The trip back from the drop point is usually empty and unpaid.
  • Waiting at pickup and loading time may be paid only beyond a limit.
  • Commission and incentives differ by city and vehicle and change without notice.

What people actually take home

We do not estimate earnings ourselves. Each line below is someone else's figure, with who said it and when.

We found no published figure we could trust for this work. Use the questions below to find out locally before you start.

    What we could not find

    • Any published figure for what goods delivery partners earn, by vehicle type.
    • The platforms' current commission rates.
Ask before you startWhere to ask
What do you make in a day after fuel, and how many trips?Partners waiting near wholesale markets and transport hubs
What commission is deducted for my vehicle type in this city? The partner app's rate card or the company's partner centre
Am I covered if goods are damaged or lost? The platform's terms for partners

    Work out your own number

Put in the rates you are actually offered. The starting values are examples, not what you will get.

Fill in the empty boxes to see the result. We have left them empty because we found no figure we could trust.

Enter what reaches you per trip after commission. Change the mileage for a three-wheeler or mini truck, and put any vehicle EMI under 'other costs'.

Count the hours you are logged in and waiting, not only the hours you are riding. Vehicle wear, repairs, traffic fines and days without work come out of the same money.

Is it legal where you live?

    • All India

Two-wheelers registered for private use are in the same legal grey area for paid goods delivery as for other delivery work, and insurers may refuse a claim for commercial use. Three-wheelers and trucks must be registered as goods vehicles with a permit.

    How to start

    1. Install the platform's own partner app and register with your documents.
    2. Start part-time on a vehicle you already own.
    3. Work near markets and business districts on weekdays.
    4. Track trips, payout, fuel and hours for a month and use the calculator.
    5. Only then decide whether a bigger vehicle would pay for itself.

    What is good about it

    • Uses a vehicle you already have.
    • No passenger to carry, and no late-night food rush.
    • Goods vehicle owners get steady business-hour work.
    • Flexible hours.

    What is hard about it

    • No reliable public data on earnings.
    • Empty return trips and waiting time are unpaid.
    • Loading and unloading is physical work.
    • You may be blamed for damaged goods.
    • A goods vehicle bought on loan must be paid for whatever the app sends you.

    Traps to avoid

    • 'Attach your tempo for a guaranteed monthly income' schemes from middlemen.
    • Agents charging for partner IDs.
    • Customers who ask you to carry goods without a bill, or anything illegal. Refuse and report in the app.

    Questions people ask

How much can I earn on Porter with a bike?+

We found no reliable published figure. Earnings depend on your city, the hours and how many return trips are empty. Try it for a month and work out the result in the calculator with your own trips and fuel.

Do I need a commercial vehicle for goods delivery apps?+

Three-wheelers and trucks must be goods vehicles with a permit. For two-wheelers, platforms accept ordinary bikes, but check your insurance, since private policies may not cover commercial use.
