A typical day

As a junior officer at a police station you get the bulk of the investigation load: accident cases, thefts, assaults and complaints that need enquiry. A day can include a panchnama at a scene, an arrest, a court remand and a night as duty officer taking every complaint that walks in. Bandobast for festivals and political events comes on top. Fourteen-hour days are common and seniors expect you to be reachable at all times.
