What you will actually do

  • Supervising the ministerial staff of an Income Tax office
  • Handling establishment, pay, leave and pension cases
  • Checking bills, budget and office expenditure
  • Managing records, dak and office upkeep
  • Putting up administrative files to the head of office

A typical day

You are the head clerk of an Income Tax office or a section of a larger one. Tax Assistants and other staff report to you; you distribute work, check what they put up, and make sure salary bills, service books and returns to the Commissioner's office go out on time. The work has nothing to do with assessing tax. Days are regular except at year-end and transfer season.
