What you will actually do

  • Carrying files and papers between sections and offices
  • Opening and closing rooms, and general cleanliness and upkeep
  • Photocopying, scanning and dispatch
  • Delivering dak (post) inside and outside the building
  • Helping with diary, record room work and other non-clerical tasks

A typical day

You reach before the staff to open rooms and get the section ready. Through the day you move files between desks and buildings, make photocopies, deliver letters and help in the record room. In offices short of clerks, MTS staff who know computers often end up doing diary and typing work too. It involves a lot of walking and being on call for small jobs.
